From this week's Torah reading.
Masei - Numbers 33:54-56: You shall possess the Land and you shall settle in it, for to you I have given the Land to possess it. You shall give the Land as an inheritance by lot to your families...But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the Land from before you, then those whom you leave over will be like spikes in your eyes and thorns in your sides. They will harass you in the Land in which you settle. Then I will do to you what I had intended to do to them.
