I had this video posted originally as a 4 part series, but I just found a version of the entire video and reposted it here while deleting the others. It's about 77 minutes, but after watching you will understand why he is still so deeply revered by so many. Quite simply, he was absolutely right and had the guts, charisma and following to make the corrupt Israeli political scum tremble.
Kahane...there was/is no substitute.

...but now he's dead and Olmert's in charge.
ReplyDeleteDoes a Jewish state depend upon a single man's existence and will?
Survival depends upon advancing the philosophy and ideals he championed. At this time, nobody has emerged who can or will do what he was doing.
ReplyDeleteAnd that proves Kahane was not successful. He failed to educate the new generation and give it pass on his agenda. Yeah, there's the factor that he didn't get to live out his dream but even if he had not been murdered I doubt he would have witnessed transfer come to pass.
ReplyDeleteKahane was not successful because the Jewish people as a whole more closely resemble Olmert and Peres than Kahane. Right man at the wrong time, which makes it all the more remarkable that he accomplished as much as he did. Had he lived, his next project was to lead a revolution to transform the "West Bank" into the State of Judea.
ReplyDeleteMZ: let me ask you this: do you consider any of Meir Kahane's writings/speeches inflamatory or racist?
ReplyDeleteDo you? Have you even watched this video? I don't really care about inflamatory as the moslems are inflamed when the wind blows, but I have never, ever heard or read him say anything racist.
ReplyDeleteEverything I've heard Meir Kahane say has been racist but I'm not interested; I don't feel a need to read/listen to his propaganda. Propaganda is cheap while common sense is not. I've read Begin and Zhabotinsky and enjoyed every bit of it. I started reading "They Must Go" and "Why Be Jewish?" and quit almost right away.
ReplyDeleteName a single thing Kahane has ever said that is racist. Just one. Watch the video, and read his books beyond the first few pages.
ReplyDeleteOK, I'll watch the video (with a pad of paper in hand;) as soon as I get a chance(it's longish).
ReplyDeleteAfter the first 14 minutes I put my pad of paper away. I was ashamed to be checking Kahane for racist quotes while he was retelling the history of Leftist Jews oppressing and murdering their rightwing "Fascist" brothers and sisters. I watched 17 minutes altogether only because I didn't have the patience for more. He was a very powerful speaker but it's difficult to read/listen to political propaganda. It gets old fast.
ReplyDeleteEitan, glad you can see now for yourself that he was no racist.
