Majority of Israel's Jews regret Gaza pogrom, oppose further retreats

I am actually somewhat pleased, though one would certainly like to see these numbers higher still.

(IsraelNN.com) Some 60% of Jews in Israel feel that the uprooting of Jews from Gush Katif and northern Shomron was an error - but 18% still support a similar move in Yesha.

A poll carried out by Teleseker for Maariv newspaper on Thursday found that 59% feel the "Disengagement, in the way it was carried out, was a mistake." Half that number, or 29%, said it was a correct move. Just over half the population feels that the withdrawal from Gaza worsened Israel's security situation, while only 12% said it improved Israel's security. 30% felt there was no difference.

Asked if they favor a unilateral evacuation of communities in Judea and Samaria, nearly a fifth - 18% - answered yes, while 74% said no.

What a total disconnect between the Israeli government and the people. 74% of the Jews are opposed to any further unilateral surrenders, yet the Olmert government still is openly advocating further, more sweeping land capitulations to the vermin. This divide cannot last. The problem is the whole system of government is so corrupt that Olmert being deposed would probably not lead to anything any better.

Filthy Gaza vermin rocket Sderot again

The missiles just keep raining down on Sderot from Judenrein Gaza and nobody bothers to say or do a damn thing about it. The city is nearly abandoned now because of these constant attacks that Olmert, Peres and company poo-poo away over champagne cocktails and caviar.

Ynet News: Two Qassam rockets fired by Palestinians in Gaza slammed into a home and a warehouse in Sderot Thursday evening. A woman sustained light shrapnel injuries, while a number of other residents suffered from shock.

The home, which was deserted, was severely damaged.

A total of six rockets landed in Israeli territory throughout the day, as did a few mortar shells, which landed near the border fence with Gaza and near the community of Native Ha’asara, located just north of the Strip.

Also on Wednesday, the parents’ associations of Sderot told Prime Minister Ehud Olmert that they had decided not to open the upcoming school year. The parents are demanding that the authorities respect the High Court’s ruling regarding the city’s fortification and present plans and a timetable for its implementation.

Note that the schools are closed and the homes abandoned in the GREEN LINE, PRE '67 city of Sderot because their country flat refuses to defend them. What an abomination this state is turning into.

Nakba Day approved in Israeli schools

In an effort to confirm for the Arabs that Israel really is a stolen state created by dastardly terrorist Jews who expelled innocent, indigenous moslems into filthy refugee camps, Ehud Olmert's Education Minister has authorized NAKBA DAY to be accepted as legitimate and taught as curriculum in Israeli schools!

(IsraelNN.com) Arab schoolchildren in Israel will be taught next year that the founding of the State of Israel was a tragedy (Nakba in Arabic) in accordance with a widespread Arab view of the event.

The Education Ministry, headed by Prof.Yuli Tamir (Labor), has approved adding the Arab version to the curriculum in response to calls by Arab nationalists who requested the “Nakba” version be taught in their schools.

The new directive approves a Grade 3 textbook "Living Together in Israel," which was written by Arabs who left their homes during the 1948 War of Independence and claim that Israel took their land. The textbook evenhandedly points out that the Arab nations refused to accept the United Nations partition plan creating the Jewish State and a new Trans-Jordan country.

"The Arab narrative deserves to be told in Israel," Tamir explained. Arab MKs congratulated her for her decision, though immediately raised new demands. Arab MK Hana Sweid said Tamir should now incorporate Arab poetry into Jewish school curricula, while MK Jamal Zechalke called for "Arab cultural autonomy" under which Arabs would solely determine Israeli-Arab schools' curricula regarding Arab history and culture.

WTF is going on in Israel? I never thought I'd see the day when Nakba Day is part of the Israeli curriculum. The end is near for the modern Israel experiment I fear. May the one that rises up in its ashes have more merit.

Olmert releases the terrorists

Ho-hum. Today, Israeli PM Ehud Olmert unilaterally released 256 convicted islamic terrorists from prison as a "goodwill gesture" to the prophet mohammed.

So, what else is new?

Wingin' it

I made my famous chicken wings last night for some friends. They were insanely good, especially my parve blue cheese that Nanc will never get the recipe for. Drank about 6 cold beers, too. My kind of night!

Attention world

David Beckham and his bimbo wife are not going to change one simple fact: America will never, ever give a crap about soccer. It's a sport for women and suburban kids, period. Here's a deal for you to consider: Stop trying make us Americans give a sh-t about soccer and we'll stop trying to make the rest of the world care about football (yes, AMERICAN football).

Shabbos thoughts

This Shabbos we read the first parsha of the final book of Torah: Devarim. It is also called "Mishneh Torah" in the Talmud because the book is essentially an explanation of Torah given by Moshe before he dies. If you want a summary of Torah from the book of Exodus onward than reading Devarim is just the thing for you.

Good Shabbos, y'all!

About MZ

I was tagged by Brooklyn Habiru and have reluctantly agreed to play along.

The rules:

Each player lists 8 facts/habits about themselves. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning before those facts/habits are listed. At the end of the post, the player then tags 8 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

1. I am a huge Buffalo Bills/Buffalo Sabres fan. Growing up in cold, depressed Buffalo, sports, wings and beer were all we had.

2. I may have the worst short term memory in history. Most of the time I have no idea where my keys are, where my wallet is, where my car is parked, where my cell phone is, where I'm supposed to be going later, what happened to my pen, what your name is, etc.

3. I am a bal teshuvah. Up until 5 years ago I was totally secular in every way, and up until 4 years ago did not keep kosher at all.

4. I make the best chicken wings on the planet. Old school Buffalo style - deep fried with hot sauce and margarine. I also make a parve blue cheese that's literally better than actual blue cheese.

5. I was a very good athlete in high school. All Western New York selection at linebacker my senior year as my team won the state championship. Also, was the starting centerfielder in baseball, a sprinter in track and a pretty decent hockey player, too.

6. I hate cold weather. I'd take 90 degrees over 50 degrees anyday.

7. I get motion sickness very easily. I especially hate being in limos or on power boats.

8. My wife despises my blogging. If it were up to her the Mad Zionist would be executed, not Olmert.

Please forgive me for this, but I'm tagging Nanc at Curtains, Bar Kochba, Red Tulips, Florian, Kahane Was Right, Last Amazon, American/Israeli Patriot, and Mr. Beamish.

Olmert grants amnesty to Fatah terrorists

Shocking news! Israeli PM Ehud Olmert has once again collaborated with islamic terrorists! Yes, Mr. Olmert today officially gave amnesty to at least 180 known Jew killing terrorist fugitives of the Fatah terror organization as a "good will gesture" to renowned Holocaust denier Mahmoud Abbas. In another stunning news development, the sun continued to set in the west today.

Ynet News: Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has confirmed Saturday reports of a deal according to which Israel will stop chasing dozens of wanted Fatah gunmen in the West Bank if they agree to disarm.

The agreement, which is aimed at bolstering Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, was first published by Ynet Friday evening.

Officials in Jerusalem stressed that Zakariya Zubeidi was not on the list of some 180 wanted Fatah men Israel is expected to pardon, but the al-Aqsa Brigades leader said Palestinian Authority officials have informed him that he would be included in the deal.

According to the deal, the pardoned Fatah members will be permitted to join the Palestinian security services but will be prohibited from carrying arms.

As published by Ynet Friday evening, Israel and the Palestinian Authority agreed on the granting of amnesty to dozens of wanted activists affiliated with the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, Fatah's military wing in the West Bank.

As part of the efforts to strengthen Abbas, three weeks ago Olmert announced at the Sharm el-Sheik summit that some 250 Palestinians ‘without blood on their hands’ would be released from Israeli jails. The list is currently being finalized and is expected to be brought before a ministerial committee at the beginning of the week.

Pathetic. How many Jews does Olmert have to sacrifice before it is finally his neck put in the noose? Can't happen too soon.

Temple Mount

Let's do a little test. I will post Olmert's current approach on dealing with the Temple Mount, followed by Kahane's, and you pick the viewpoint you like better.

Olmert's position regarding the Temple Mount:

JERUSALEM – Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has quietly granted the Waqf – the Muslim custodians of the Temple Mount – permission to dig unsupervised on the sacred site, WND has learned.

The permission was granted in spite of longstanding fears from leading Israeli archeologists the Waqf might hide or dispose of Jewish Temple artifacts discovered during any Muslim digs.

The last time the Waqf conducted an unsupervised excavation on the Temple Mount, in 1997, the Muslim custodians ultimately were caught by Israeli authorities disposing truckloads of Mount dirt that contained Jewish Temple artifacts.

Most Palestinian leaders routinely deny well-documented Jewish ties to the Temple Mount – the holiest site in Judaism.

Speaking to WND in a recent interview, Waqf official and chief Palestinian Justice Taysir Tamimi claimed the Jewish Temples "never existed."

"About these so-called two Temples, they never existed, certainly not at the Haram Al- Sharif (Temple Mount)," said Tamimi, who is considered the second most important Palestinian cleric after Muhammad Hussein, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem.

"Israel started since 1967 making archeological digs to show Jewish signs to prove the relationship between Judaism and the city and they found nothing. There is no Jewish connection to Israel before the Jews invaded in the 1880s," said Tamimi.

Kahane's take:

THE DISGRACE OF THE TEMPLE MOUNT where Moslem mosques are built on the holiest site in Judaism. A synagogue built on Islam's holiest site in Mecca would lead to world Moslem outcry. Jewish silence in the face of the desecration of Judaism's holiest site is inexcusable and a disgrace. The Moslems and their mosques must be removed from the site of the holy temples of Israel.

I know which approach I'd choose. How about you?

Real Jewish Government

Slow day in the news, so I thought I'd post some wisdom from Rav Meir Kahane for your reading pleasure.

The Jewish concept of government differs totally from that of the liberal West. The liberal, gentilized society, lacking any concept of objective truth and, indeed, not wishing to have any such concept, desiring the anarchy and totality of freedom to sink to the depths in the mire as they please, is institutionally and ideologically opposed to government coercion in the area of personal life. But Judaism knows that it is precisely the area of personal life of the individual that shapes his character and soul and that will lead to good or evil. And G-d sees in immorality and self-indulgence and materialism, in anarchy, all the things that are evil and obscene and destructive to man and the world. That is why there is Jewish government: To teach man the path of "good," and to ensure that the individual and society follow that path of "good."

A brilliant commentary by Rav Kahane on why modern Israel is mired in such total disrepair. The man was a genious.

Kahane, Pinchas and Olmert

Olmert continued with his treasonous government of corruption and self-loathing this week by appointing a recently disgraced sex offender as his Vice-Prime Minister, and then having his cronies approve freeing 250 convicted terrorists from prison as a good will gesture to the vermin. Ironically, this happened during the week of parsha Pinchas, the Torah account of the truly righteous Jew who killed corrupt sex offenders who helped cause thousands of Jewish people to die for their very public sexual abuses.

After learning of the anti-Semitic news spewed forth by Olmert and company above, I couldn't help but refer back to what Kahane had said about those leftwing Israeli secularists who sell out Israel. Said Kahane:

"Hundreds of thousands of Israeli Jews fear, in their heart of hearts, that they are thieves who have no right to be in the country. With God playing no part in their life or calculations and the Divine Promise of the Jews to the land irrelevant, the secular Jew is riven with guilt over his inability to explain away, to others and to himself, arab arguments that the land is really theirs and was stolen from them by the Zionists. The fact that "Jews once lived there" is simply not enough for him to answer the arab, who asks: But I have lived here for hundreds of years, why did you take over my country, "Palestine", and make it a Jewish State, "Israel"?

Zionism without Judaism in Israel is an empty vessel leaving those who drink from its dregs empty, guilt-ridden, and sick with the ague of self-hate."

As I mentioned, this week's parsha was Pinchas, and if you haven't familiarized yourself with this story I definitely suggest you do so. In reading the text we can quickly see one of world Jewry's biggest problems exposed today: Too many Olmerts'/Baalams' and not enough Pinchas'/Kahanes'.
